Bank Holiday Food Services For Homeless People In Southend


As it is a long weekend, we’d like to make everyone aware of the services available for local homeless people in Southend over the bank holiday. If you speak to someone in need over the weekend, please pass this information on to them. Enjoy your long weekend from all at HARP.

Southend Food Service Update: August Bank Holiday 2019

Food services available at HARP and by other agencies and groups:

Friday 23 August

  • The Bradbury Day Centre ‘Rough Sleeper Breakfast’, 103-107 York Road – 9.00am-11.00am

  • The Bradbury Day Centre ‘Lunchtime Service’,103-107 York Road – 12.00noon-1.30pm

  • 57 West, 6 Clarence Rd, ‘Drop in’ (Tea/coffee/toast/snacks) – 12.00noon-3.00pm

  • Love on the Streets ‘Soup Kitchen’, Clarence Road Car Park – 7.00pm-8.30pm

Saturday 24 August

  • 57 West, 6 Clarence Rd, ‘Community Meal’ – 12.00pm-2.00pm

  • Street Spirit ‘Soup Kitchen’, Clarence Road Car Park – 7.00pm-8.30pm

Sunday 25 August

  • Mama’s Soup Kitchen, Sacred Hearts Church – 3.00pm-6.00pm

  • Homeless Eats, Clarence Road Car Park from – 6.00pm-7.30pm

Monday 26 August (Bank Holiday)

  • One Love ‘Soup Kitchen’, Hollybrook Site, Carnarvon Road – 7.00pm (rough sleepers, 7.30pm (non rough sleepers)

Tuesday 27 August

  • The Bradbury Day Centre ‘Rough Sleeper Breakfast’, 103-107 York Road – 9.00am-11.00am

  • All Saints Church, 1 Sutton Rd (by roundabout), Breakfast – 8.00am-11am

  • The Bradbury Day Centre ‘Lunchtime Service’, 103-107 York Road – 12.00noon-1.30pm

  • Homeless Street Hub ‘Soup Kitchen’ – Clarence Rd Car Park – 7.00pm- 9.00pm

Service Opening/Closing days:

HARP Emergency and Supported Housing Services are staffed as usual throughout the Bank Holiday period.

The Bradbury Day Centre is open up to 4.00pm on Friday 23 August. The Day Centre will reopen at 9.00am on Tuesday 27 August. Rough Sleeper Night Packs are available all over the weekend and Bank Holiday.

Southend Vineyard Storehouse – Closed after Thursday 22 August. Open from Wednesday 28 August and back to the normal weekly pattern commencing with ‘Family Storehouse’.

57 West – Closed after Saturday 24 August. Open again on Wednesday 28 August. However 57 West will be closed from the 1st- 11th September as part of their annual program

Please note: HARP has been kindly provided with the above details to inform service users and local stakeholders of the services available during this Holy Week/Easter period. It is the responsibility of the other agencies and groups involved to manage the individuals that use the services provided and not HARP.
