HARP24 is back!

HARP24 is back to Help Beat Homelessness One Stride at a Time!

It’s once again time for running enthusiasts to register for HARP24, South Essex’s 24-hour running festival.

This year, the relay challenge starts at midday on Saturday 17th June and finishes at midday on Sunday 18th June, with solo runners and teams continuously running the 5-mile trail course around the beautiful Cherry Orchard Country Park.

The solo runner or team that completes the most laps in each category is crowned HARP24 champion and takes home the winners trophy.

The 2023 edition of the race will be extra special, as it will be the 10th Anniversary of the race.

The popular event is a key fundraising date for HARP, helping us as we strive to deliver services for around 1,000 local people experiencing homelessness across Southend every year. Runners are asked to fundraise for HARP in the lead up to the race, encouraging supporters to donate to fund our life-changing work.

Dina Jobson, HARP’s Head of Fundraising, said: “We are always so impressed with the number of runners and volunteers who come together each year to make HARP24 the best running festival around. The energy and commitment of everyone involved is staggering, and this year we are aiming to have our largest attendance yet, with an expected 600 runners taking part.”

“HARP24 is a key fundraising event for HARP, and every participant is helping to raise funds to help beat homelessness one stride at a time! We couldn’t do it without the support of our wonderful corporate sponsors, volunteers and of course the incredible runners.”

HARP24 is a unique event welcoming all abilities from ultra-marathoners to fun runners, with solo runners tackling the entire 24 hours on their own, and teams of up to 12 sharing the load.
