Could you spare some time to help local people experiencing homelessness?

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation and without them, we couldn’t do what we do to support around 1,000 local people every year who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness.

 

Whether assisting in our shops, preparing and serving breakfast or lunch in our Bradbury Day Centre, or supporting HARP residents in our supported accommodation, volunteers play an essential role in helping local people overcome homelessness.

Fundraising Volunteer – Data Admin

​

HARP are looking for a fundraising volunteer to support our busy fundraising team with Data Admin. If you think you are the right person and are available 1-2 days a week between 09:30 & 16:00, please complete a volunteer application

• Helping to manage data on our CRM Salesforce

• Ensuring that all donations are logged onto our database

• Writing thank you letters to people who have donated

• Helping to produce reports and data sets in Excel and Word

• Helping with organising the files and data on SharePoint

• General admin tasks

Drivers

​

HARP are looking for Volunteer Drivers to drive a 12 seater mini-bus for our cold weather shelter. Morning volunteers are needed from 08:00 -09:00, evening volunteers are required from 18:30 - 19:30.

​

• Pick up shelter guests from our central Southend day centre and drop at our dedicated cold weather shelter

• Pick up guests from our dedicated cold weather shelter and drop at our day centre in central Southend

• Ensuring passenger safety

Night Shelter Volunteer

​

HARP are looking for Night Shelter Volunteers for our overnight emergency shelter.

​

• Supporting our clients' requests for clothing and other necessities. 

• Sorting and organising donations 

• Booking in clients 

• Welfare checks 

• Engaging with clients – I.e. playing games, befriending  

• Arranging of snacks and hot drinks

Till User/shop floor assistant    

​

We are looking for a till user to serve customers, answer queries and keep the shop floor looking great.

​

• Greeting and helping customers while they are shopping

• serving on the till

• maintaining our high display standards on the shop floor

• keeping the shop floor stocked

• general shop duties.

Sort Room Assistant

 

We are looking for sort room assistants to sort donations and process stock ready to go on the shop floor.

​

• Greeting donors

• enquiring about Gift Aid (full training given)

• recording volume of donations received

• sorting donations

• tagging and steaming clothes and identifying suitable stock to be sold on the shop floor
