Could you help local homeless people change their lives for the better?

We have around 100 volunteers helping to run our services at any one time - without them, we couldn’t do what we do. Whether they are assisting in our shops, preparing and serving breakfast or lunch in our Bradbury Day Centre, or supporting HARP residents in our supported accommodation, they play an essential role in helping local people overcome homelessness.

We have lots of exciting opportunities to volunteer at HARP. Click below to see our current volunteer vacancies. Even if you can't find what you're looking for, check the page regularly, as we're adding new opportunities all the time!

If you are interested in volunteering for HARP but not sure which vacancy is right for you, fill out our volunteer enquiry form and our Volunteer Recruitment Team will be in touch.

We are committed to empowering local homeless people to regain control of their lives and End Rough Sleeping in Southend. We would be lost without our wonderful volunteers and supporters and are very grateful to everyone that helps us support so many people each year. To ensure that we provide a regular service to those that most need our help, it is important for us to plan ahead and regulate the support we have available. This allows us to offer consistency to those using our services so that they know we will be there when they need us.

For this reason we are unable to offer many one-off volunteering opportunities, whether for groups or individuals. Our vacancies are usually all filled by regular volunteers. If you are flexible as to when your group can volunteer then we do have occasional group opportunities, such as painting and decorating, sorting large donations or marshalling at an event. If you let us know that you are on hand to help, by filling out our volunteer enquiry form, then we can contact you as and when opportunities arise. As an alternative, one of the best ways to get involved in helping local people overcome homelessness for good is to fundraise for HARP. Simply put - the more money you raise, the more people we can help.

We support over 1,000 people every year by providing meals, a safe place to sleep, as well as practical and emotional support to help people overcome their own personal challenges. Any money you raise will help towards all these things and will undoubtedly change lives for the better.

Sand Royale Investment got in touch to ask how they could get involved and decided to volunteer their time by fundraising for us at the Royals Shopping Centre raising £433 in just two hours!

Fundraising is a fun way to make a positive change in your community and we have lots of ideas to get your creative juices flowing. If you have a fun and innovative idea we would love to hear them too, all we ask is that you are respectful in your ask as not everyone has the financial means to support a charity.

You could organise a quiz night or hold a dress down day in the office. Or how about a sponsored 24-hour cycle challenge? Just tag with your colleagues every hour and between you peddle your way to a small fortune!

Head to our fundraising A-Z for more ideas on how you can get involved!

Thanks for choosing to support HARP! Together, we will End Rough Sleeping in Southend, for good!
