Do you believe everyone should have a place to call home and the chance to lead a fulfilling life?

HARP is Southend-on-Sea’s leading homelessness charity. On average, we help around 1,000 local people every year to overcome or avoid homelessness. In addition to providing essential short-term emergency shelter, food, clothing and washing facilities, we work to identify the root causes of homelessness, creating tailored support for each person’s circumstances. We achieve success by providing structure, purpose and training opportunities, and by providing longer-term supported housing, empowering people to take steps to leave homelessness behind and ultimately to live independently in the community.

As a charitable registered provider of short-term social housing operating in Southend-on-Sea, we believe everyone should have a home of their own. At times individuals may require support from HARP and other agencies to maintain a tenancy and avoid a return to homelessness.

We currently manage 236 bed spaces in our emergency and short-term accommodation, employ over 100 full and part time staff, and supported by a number of volunteers.

Are you a motivated and passionate individual looking to make a real difference in your local community? Are you also available at the weekends on a rota basis to put your skills to good use helping others less fortunate?  If so, we would love you to join our housing management team as a Housing Project Worker.

To be considered for this role you will need:

• The demonstrable ability to work within a highly effective, person centred accommodation service for residents, some with complex needs.

• Experience of holistic assessment of need, support and risk, and multi-agency casework planning.

• Organised, adaptable, and an excellent communicator.

• Enthusiastic about working in a psychologically informed environment, and creative in your approach to service delivery.

• Resilient in, and motivated by, a constantly changing and busy environment.

• A good understanding of the regulatory and financial environment within which accommodation based support operates is essential.

Closing Date: 12th September 2022 (midday)
Short listing Day: 14th September 2022
Interview Day: 26th September 2022

HARP will provide you with support and training to carry out your role effectively, and to develop your career. Our benefits package includes 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays with an extra day of leave awarded after 5 years' service (all pro rata for part time employees).

HARP participate in an auto-enrolment pension scheme through The People’s Pension. Where eligible, you and HARP will each be required to make a contribution to the pension scheme. Employees will also become members of the non-contributory HARP Death In Service scheme. Full details of the schemes can be given on request.
