HARP’s New Furniture & Charity Shop is now OPEN on Southend High Street

We're excited to announce that the HARP furniture shop has moved from London Road to 84 Southend High Street. Whilst our current charity shop at 112 Southend High Street has also moved to the same site temporarily while the existing shop is renovated.

The new shop, opening on 17th May 2021, is the first charity shop of its kind on Southend High Street, providing a range of furniture, electricals and homeware including soft furnishings and bed linen, as well as clothing, accessories, bric-a-brac, books, DVDs and records.

Tracy Dulwich, our Head of Charity Shops, said:

“We are very excited about the move and hope that we can help bring trade to Southend High Street after a very difficult year. We’re looking forward to being positioned in the heart of Southend’s community and in a better position for passing shoppers to pop in and browse.”

The new shop is on the site of what used to be a Moss Bros store, on the corner of the High Street and Tylers Avenue, in front of the Pipe of Port.

There is paid parking just behind the store in the Pitman Close car park, and customers can arrange to collect purchases or drop off donations at the back door.

We are still taking requests for collections of furniture and larger donations (three large bags or more).

Tracy continued:

“Although current restrictions don’t really allow us to have the launch party we’d love to have, it would be fantastic to see as many people as possible in the shop when we open on Monday 17th May, even if you just come and say hi on your lunch break. We can’t wait to welcome you to our new charity shop home!”

The shop is taking donations of furniture, homeware, clothing, bric-a-brac and other items. Please check our Sort It Yourself guidance before dropping off donations.

The address of the new shop is:

84 High St

Southend-on-Sea

SS1 1JN
