Festive Services for People Rough Sleeping In Southend

Like so many, HARP and other local organisations serving homeless people have had to change the way we provide our services due to the pandemic. However, there is still a range of services available to people sleeping rough.

Opening Days and Closures:

HARP’s The Bradbury Day Centre staff are contactable by telephone on 01702 430696 or our ‘Chat to Us’ online service on our website (www.harpsouthend.org.uk) up to 4.30 pm.

HARP Supported Housing Services are staffed as usual throughout the festive period.

If you have concerns about someone's rough sleeping, please complete a Streetlink alert (www.streetlink.org.uk) which will be responded to by the Outreach services.

Southend Vineyard Storehouse is closed after 29 December and re-opens on 5 January.

Please complete Southend Borough Council’s online Housing Advice and Homeless Enquiry Form via the hyperlink www.southend.gov.uk/housing-1

(This can be completed on a smartphone, tablet or on a PC at a library or the Civic Centre or with assistance from a local homelessness agency).

Please only call the Council’s Out of Hours Service (Monday – Thursday from 5.15 pm, Friday 4.45 pm then all weekend) on 01702 615000 if you or the person referring meets the ‘Priority Need’ Criteria below:

· Have dependent children in their care

· A care leaver under the age of 21

· Currently pregnant

· 16-17 years old (Please contact Children’s Social Care first)

· Fleeing Domestic Abuse

· Homeless due to a flood, fire or other disasters

· Vulnerable as a result of old age, chronic and enduring mental illness, learning disability or physical disability.

Please note: HARP has been kindly provided with the above details to inform service users, local agencies and interested parties of the services available during this festive period. It is the responsibility of the other agencies and groups involved to manage the individuals that use the services provided and not HARP
