Lockdown: Charity Shop & Collections Update

We like to think of our charity shops as essential - they raise vital funds for our work helping local people to overcome homelessness after all. However, according to the new Covid-19 rules, our shops are classed as non-essential retail, which means that they will be closed for the duration of the current lockdown.

We will not be taking donations or doing collections whilst under lockdown.

The charity shops team would like to take the opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has supported HARP's charity shops in what has been a turbulent year. Whatever your Christmas now looks like, we wish you every happiness this festive season.

In the meantime, if you will be making the most of the lockdown with a decluttering project and want to save items for our charity shops when they reopen, or have an item of furniture you'd like collected post-lockdown, you can find out more about what we can collect and what we can't sell, and please take the time to read our Sort It Yourself advice, helping to ease the pressure on our charity shops when we eventually come out of lockdown.

If you've already requested or booked a donation collection which was due to take place after 20th December, our team will be in touch or you can contact the collections team here.

Please do not leave donations outside HARP charity shops while they are closed as they will not be taken in.

We hope to be able to get back to business as usual as soon as possible, and look forward to welcoming you back into our shops and resuming collections as soon as possible.

If you're wondering what's happening in our services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness during this time, don't worry, we are still able to continue providing remote support via phone and our online chat support service, as well as a socially distanced breakfast for people who are sleeping rough and needs assessments for people seeking support and accommodation. Not to mention supporting the 226 people who are living with HARP on their journey to overcoming homelessness.
