Food Services Available Over The Easter Weekend


Over the Easter weekend there will be changes to the usual food services available for homeless people in Southend. Here is a summary of what's available from HARP and other agencies and groups:

Thursday 18 April (Maundy Thursday)

  • The Bradbury Day Centre, 103-107 York Road, ‘Rough Sleeper Breakfast’, 9.00am – 11.00am

  • The Bradbury Day Centre,103-107 York Road, ‘Lunchtime Service’, 12.00 noon – 1.30pm

  • 57 West,6 Clarence Road, ‘Drop In’ (Tea/coffee/toast/snacks), 12.00 noon - 2.30pm

  • One Love ‘Soup Kitchen’ Hollybrook Site, Carnarvon Road, 7.00pm (rough sleepers) or 7.30pm (non rough sleepers)

Friday 19 April (Good Friday)

  • Storehouse Easter Service followed by lunch at 11.00am. Open to all.

  • 57 West, 6 Clarence Road, ‘Drop in’ (Tea/coffee/toast/snacks) 12.00 noon - 3.00pm

  • Love on the Streets ‘Soup Kitchen’, Clarence Road Car Park, 7.00pm - 8.30pm

Saturday 20 April

  • 57 West, 6 Clarence Road, Easter Service, 11.30am – 12.00pm with ‘Community Meal’ 12.00pm - 2.00pm

  • Street Spirit ‘Soup Kitchen’, Clarence Road Car Park, 7.00pm-8.30pm

Sunday 21 April

  • Bradbury Day Centre, 103-107 York Road, rough sleepers invited to pick up night packs, 9.00am – 10.30am

  • Mama’s Soup Kitchen, Clarence Road Car Park, 1.30pm- 3.00pm

Monday 22 April (Easter Bank Holiday)

  • Trinity Family Centre, Argyll Rd, Westcliff, Meals 11.00am - 2.00pm. No booking necessary. Donations welcome.

  • One Love ‘Soup Kitchen’ Easter Roast Dinner, Hollybrook Site, Carnarvon Road, 7.00pm (rough sleepers) or 7.30pm (non rough sleepers).

Tuesday 23 April

  • The Bradbury Day Centre, 103-107 York Road, ‘Rough Sleeper Breakfast’, 9.00am – 11.00am

  • All Saints Church, 1 Sutton Rd (by roundabout), Breakfast, 8.00am - 11.00am

  • Salvation Army ‘Community Breakfast’, Clarence Rd, 10.30am - 12 noon

  • The Bradbury Day Centre, 103-107 York Road, ‘Lunchtime Service’, 12.00 noon – 1.30pm

  • Homeless Street Hub ‘Soup Kitchen’, Clarence Rd Car Park, 7.00pm - 9.00pm

Service Opening/Closing days:

HARP - Emergency and Supported Housing Services are staffed as usual throughout the Easter period. The Bradbury Day Centre is open up to 4.00pm on Thursday 18 April. The Day Centre will reopen at 9.00am on Tuesday 23 April. Rough Sleeper Night Packs are available all over the Easter weekend.

Southend Vineyard Storehouse - Closed after Good Friday. Open from Wednesday 24 April and back to the normal weekly pattern commencing with ‘Family Storehouse’.

57 West - Closed after Saturday 20th. Open again on Wednesday 24 April.
