2018 at HARP

2018 was a very busy year at HARP, as sadly more and more local people find themselves caught up in the housing crisis.

We helped a total of 1,206 people with specialist advice and support in the year, and 457 of these were new to HARP. Of the 457 new people, 229 were sleeping rough, 160 were sofa surfing, and 68 were at risk of losing their accommodation and needed help and support to keep it.

We housed 358 people in HARP accommodation over the course of the year, and 88 people made great progress to move on from HARP and live independently.

We waved a fond farewell to our long-serving Chief Executive Gill Garwood, and welcomed our new Chief Executive, Jackie Bliss, to HARP.

We launched a number of innovative new services, including increasing the number of emergency beds we can offer to rough sleepers each night, and an outreach service, to get more people off the streets quicker.

We also served in the region of 62,500 meals across our services, and provided 3,651 emergency night packs and 212 food parcels.

None of this would be possible without your support, so thank you for helping us to help so many local people overcome homelessness for good!
