Molo Lounge raise over £500 for HARP

Molo Lounge on Southend High Street spent last month fundraising for HARP, as part of a nationwide Lounge Aid campaign by the restaurant chain.

Each lounge across the UK chose a local charity to support during this month long fundraising campaign, and customers of Southend’s branch voted to support HARP.

The team spent the month of May fundraising in creative and challenging ways, including hosting a quiz night. Staff also challenged themselves to ride the distance from Land's End to John o' Groats and back during the month, which is the whole length of Great Britain! This challenge was only made possible thanks to Anytime Fitness who provided a stationary bike to the restaurant so the team and customers could peddle their way towards their fundraising target at every opportunity.

Manager Tom Keauffling presented HARP with a cheque for the amazing amount of almost £500! Tom said “it’s been great fun and I’m so thankful to the team and all of our customers who have supported this year’s Lounge Aid.”

He continued “homelessness is a visible issue on Southend High Street so it’s been good to raise awareness and try and do what we can to help HARP.”
