Toby Carvery collect Easter eggs for local homeless people

The Toby Carvery at the Bell in Southend have donated 150 chocolate Easter eggs to HARP, for those we support. Manager Nicola Beales and Assistant Manager, Anita Nutt, have been working hard to encourage staff, customers and local businesses to donate as many Easter eggs as possible.

Nicola said “We decided as a team how we would distribute the donations; our main focus was to put a smile on people’s faces over the Easter period. We are so pleased to be able to donate 150 chocolate eggs to HARP to give to local people that are homeless in Southend this weekend. Hopefully it will show them that they are in our thoughts as they battle to overcome homelessness.”

Lisa Walton, Community Fundraiser at HARP said “an Easter gift from a stranger can mean the world to someone in crisis, and the donations we have been receiving from our local community over the last week will enable us to treat everyone we support to a chocolate Egg this coming weekend. We have over 170 formerly homeless people living in HARP accommodation, plus many more that access our day centre regularly, and we are thrilled to have enough chocolate Eggs to give to all who engage with us over the Easter period”.
