Spring Walkers raise £5000!

Over 100 people took part in our Spring Walk this year, raising over £5,000 to help local people as they work towards overcoming homelessness for good.

The walk saw people of all age groups and abilities show their support and solidarity for homeless people in Southend. Rebecca Ravinet took part with her family and boyfriend. They raised an amazing £315! Rebecca said: “We chose to support HARP as it is a very worthwhile local charity for homeless people. It was nice to do the Spring Walk and raise money at the same time. It was particularly enjoyable as we did it as a family, the weather was lovely and we raised lots of money to put towards this wonderful charity. We’re looking forward to next year’s walk.”

Local mum Maria Clarke was there on the day and decided to complete the route twice, despite having to overcome some recent challenges to her health. She told us: “A few years ago I’d never have dreamed of walking unaided, let alone a full 7 miles!”

We would like to thank everyone that supported and took part in this year’s event. It was lovely to see everyone having so much fun, whilst showing their support to local homeless people. We look forward to seeing everyone next year!
