Do you believe that homelessness should be eradicated?

HARP is Southend-on-Sea’s leading homelessness charity. On average we help around 1,000 local people every year to overcome or avoid homelessness. In addition to providing essential short-term emergency shelter, food, clothing and washing facilities, we work to identify the root causes of homelessness, creating tailored support for each person’s circumstances. We achieve success by providing structure, purpose and training opportunities, and by providing longer-term supported housing, empowering people to take steps to leave homelessness behind and ultimately live independently in the community.

Do you have experience of working with rough sleepers?  Does the idea of leading a team actively seeking to improve the lives of those we support appeal to you?

  • As The Rough Sleeper Outreach Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of The Day Centre, ensuring it is a safe and secure environment for rough sleepers to attend, get their basic needs met and provide a safe haven for meaningful support to be put in place.

  • Direct The Outreach Team who provide intensive support to people who are rough sleeping, advocating and enabling them to access appropriate services, including housing by working in partnership with existing delivery structures, and local networks.

  • Proactively facilitate working with a range of partner agencies including Substance Use and Mental Health Services to ensure the delivery of a high quality service that meets the needs of our client group.
