COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Emergency Appeal
Those without a home are some of the most vulnerable members of our community, being more likely to have underlying health conditions, which put them at higher risk of severe illness from coronavirus.
Many also have mental health and addiction problems that make self-isolation and social distancing even more challenging. And new people are still arriving on our streets or live in fear of losing their homes even during the lockdown.
HARP is here to help... but we can't do it without your support!

A HARP, we are working hard to ensure that the people who come to us for help and support continue to get the vital services we provide so they can escape or avoid homelessness, as well as giving them the information they need to stay safe in the current health crisis. We are:

Supporting the 214 people who live in our supported and emergency accommodation, including providing meals and helping them to remain socially distanced and self-isolate safely.

Helping to provide breakfast to over 100 people who were formerly rough sleeping and have now been placed in B&Bs by the council.

Continuing to provide advice and guidance for local people who are at risk of homelessness.

Working with the council to ensure that anyone newly homeless is housed as quickly as possible.

Ensuring all the people who come to us for help are aware of the social distancing measures at this time and helping them to take appropriate action to stay safe.

Continuing to work closely with other local agencies through the emergency Task Force we set up regarding COVID-19 and homelessness in Southend.
We need to work together as a community to stay as safe as possible.
Your donation will help provide food, shelter and support for local homeless people in and around Southend.
With fundraising events cancelled, our charity shops closed and no real idea of when this will end, people who are rough sleeping, homeless or at risk of homelessness in Southend still need our help!
