Do you believe everyone should have a place to call home and the chance to lead a fulfilling life?

As a charitable registered provider of short-term social housing operating in Southend-on-Sea, we believe everyone should have their own home.

We currently manage 241-bed spaces in our emergency and short-term accommodation, employ over 90 full and part-time staff and are supported by a number of volunteers. Everyone working for HARP plays an important part in helping a person off the streets and back on their feet.

Women experiencing homelessness are typically less visible on the streets than men, more likely to be hidden homeless, and more likely to have experienced trauma and abuse both before and during homelessness, including separation from children.

This is an important and rewarding role and the Coordinator will, with the staff team,

enable clients in our women’s hostel to flourish in a stable environment with tailored support. Help is readily available from HARP and partner agencies to seek improvements to their mental health, physical health and/or substance misuse issues as required.

The support will also include tenancy sustainment and improving education, training and vocational prospects to enable clients to seek paid work in readiness for independent living as appropriate.

To be considered for this role you will need to have experience of:

  • Experience in line management of a small team

  • Experience in supporting people with complex needs and those in recovery from substance misuse and/or alcohol

  • Managing a small caseload of clients

  • Carrying out regular supervision and performance reviews to ensure good practice and standards

  • Assisting the Team Manager in ensuring the properties are safe and well maintained.
